Vegetable Farmer

VRDNT Farm is a bio-intensive vegetable farm in Bastrop TX (45min E of Austin) We believe relocalizing agriculture is a radical step towards improving our individual health and community resilience. VRDNT’s mission is simple: to nourish the land and our local community by growing  high quality, nutrient dense, super-fresh veggies. Owner Becky Hume spent over 10 years working on Organic and sustainable farms before taking the leap to start her own in 2019 (that’s me). We operate a year-round CSA (subscription) program as well as selling at Farmer’s Markets and to local wholesalers. In our fifth year, we are hitting our stride and continuing to expand our production and products. We’re looking for folks to join our team, who share a passion for growing food, and a willingness to work hard as a team. 

FULL TIME

Vegetable Farmer (Thur-Mon 8-4:30)

This is an awesome opportunity for anyone looking to learn the ropes of farming. This position will work with our harvest team 2 days a week, our grower 1 day a week, deliver vegetables in Austin 1 day a week, and assist at the farmers market 1 day/a week. Responsibilities will include picking, washing, and packing vegetables with the harvest team. Planting, hoeing, and trellising will be everyday tasks while working with our grower. Safely and reliably delivering vegetables to our partners in Austin is the top priority on delivery day. Helping at the farmers market will include meeting at the Mueller market, setting up, maintaining vegetable displays & checking out customers. Hours are generally 8-4:30 but may vary seasonally.  Employment is full-time/year-round. Pay $17-19/hr based on experience. + Weekly tip share from Farmers Market and 2 weeks PTO annually (also plenty of fresh veggies). 

Must have valid driver's licence and clean driving record.
