Who You Are:

As an Assembly Technician I within our Engineering & Operations department, you play a crucial role in translating design concepts into tangible products. Your responsibility lies in meticulously assembling mechanical components and systems according to engineering specifications, ensuring utmost accuracy and quality throughout the assembly process. This pivotal role requires you to have a keen eye for detail, a thorough understanding of assembly instructions, and adeptness in utilizing both hand and power tools, as well as heavy machinery. You will oversee the production process of various components, continuously optimizing production efficiency while upholding high-quality standards.

A significant part of your role involves assembling and operating machinery and closely adhering to project deadlines. Collaboration with members of each project team is key; you will coordinate efforts to guarantee the seamless assembly and testing of components. Additionally, your expertise extends to connecting intricate wire harnesses and cable assemblies, conducting crimping and soldering operations, and performing comprehensive continuity and resistance tests.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble Mechanical Components: Assemble components and systems with precision and adherence to engineering specifications, focusing on mechanical and fabrication tasks.
  • Interpret Technical Drawings: Accurately read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Operate Machinery: Utilize both hand and power tools proficiently, and operate machinery as required in the assembly process.
  • Quality Control: Conduct quality checks during and after assembly, identifying and rectifying defects promptly.
  • Process Optimization: Optimize manufacturing processes, improving production efficiency while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with team members, ensuring seamless communication and workflow within the production process.
  • Maintain Workspace: Keep a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols and industry regulations.
  • Resource Management: Identify and gather build-of-material parts, keep inventory records, and manage resources efficiently.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate’s degree in Mathematics, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field is preferred but not required. Relevant experience can be used in place of education.
  • Technical Skill: Specialized understanding in component cleaning, electrical assembly processes, tube bending, and fitting placement.
  • Mechanical Skills: Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and mechanical schematics.
  • Tool Proficiency: Knowledge of various hand and power tools, as well as machinery used in assembly processes.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to identify and rectify assembly defects.
  • Detail-Oriented: Detail-oriented approach, ensuring accuracy and precision in assembly tasks.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills for seamless collaboration within the assembly team.
  • Safety Compliance: Adherence to safety protocols and industry regulations, maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Efficiency: Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight production deadlines.
  • Continuous Learning: Continuous learning mindset, staying updated with the latest assembly techniques and technologies.
