Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer with a robust background in CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining and at least 5 years of experience in quoting processes. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with CNC programming, operations, and optimization, along with a proven track record of generating accurate and competitive quotations for manufacturing projects. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can effectively analyze project requirements, assess costs, and provide timely and precise quotations, leveraging their expertise in CNC machining processes. This role will spend an estimated 25% of their time quoting.

Responsibilities:

Utilize in-depth knowledge of CNC machining processes, equipment, and programming to assess project requirements and develop efficient manufacturing solutions.

Generate accurate and competitive quotations for manufacturing projects involving CNC machining, based on customer specifications, drawings, and other relevant information.

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including sales, engineering, and production to gather necessary data and ensure alignment on project requirements.

Analyze CNC machining processes, tooling requirements, material usage, and labor costs to determine the most cost-effective solutions for project quotations.

Provide technical expertise and guidance on CNC machining capabilities, process optimization, and tooling selection to enhance competitiveness and efficiency.

Develop and maintain a database of CNC machining parameters, tooling specifications, and supplier capabilities to support quoting activities.

Review and interpret customer RFQs (Request for Quotes) and technical documents to accurately assess project scope and requirements.

Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings in CNC machining operations to optimize profitability and competitiveness.

Collaborate with suppliers to obtain competitive pricing for CNC machining services, tooling, and materials, and negotiate favorable terms to support project quotations.

Prepare and present quotations to customers, addressing any technical queries or concerns to ensure clarity and transparency.

Maintain accurate records of quotations, including pricing details, assumptions, and any special terms or conditions.

Monitor and track quotation activity, follow up on outstanding quotes, and provide regular updates to management on quoting status and metrics.

Stay informed about advancements in CNC machining technology, industry trends, and market dynamics to drive innovation and competitiveness.

Requirements:

BS in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent (preferred).

Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a strong emphasis on CNC machining.

Proven track record of generating accurate and competitive quotations for manufacturing projects involving CNC machining.

Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with CNC programming, operations, and optimization.

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and interact with customers and suppliers.

Proficiency in CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code), CAD/CAM software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office suite.

Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and customers.

Results-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and innovation in CNC machining processes.

Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and take on new challenges as needed.
