Job Title: Part-Time Bakery Assistant

Job Duties:

  1. Customer Service:

    • Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner.
    • Take customer orders and provide information about bakery products.
    • Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly.

  2. Food Preparation:

    • Assist in the preparation of bakery items such as bread, pastries, cakes, and cookies.
    • Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes.
    • Operate kitchen equipment.

  3. Stocking and Inventory:

    • Receive and check in bakery deliveries.
    • Stock shelves and display cases with fresh products.
    • Monitor inventory levels and notify management when supplies need to be replenished.

  4. Cleaning and Sanitation:

    • Keep work areas, equipment, and utensils clean and sanitized.
    • Follow safety and sanitation guidelines.

  5. Cash Handling:

    • Operate cash registers and handle customer transactions accurately.
    • Provide change and receipts as needed.

  6. Team Collaboration:

    • Work collaboratively with other bakery staff members.
    • Communicate effectively with colleagues and superiors.

Qualifications:

  1. Previous Experience:

    • Prior experience in a bakery or food service environment is preferred but not required.

  2. Knowledge and Skills:

    • Basic understanding of baking techniques and food safety practices.
    • Ability to follow recipes and instructions.
    • Strong customer service and communication skills.

  3. Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to stand for extended periods.
    • Lift and carry moderate loads (ingredients, equipment, etc.).

  4. Availability:

    • Flexibility in scheduling, including weekends.
    • Ability to work part-time hours as required by the bakery.

  5. Team Player:

    • Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
    • Ability to take direction and contribute to a positive work environment.

  6. Attention to Detail:

    • Keen attention to detail to ensure the quality of baked goods.
    • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
