Summary of Responsibilities

Performs most work assigned with minimal assistance; able to make decisions on all but the most unusual tax matters. When such problems arise, can outline them for the partner and then acts on advice. Displays professional conduct, showing confidence and ease in the presence of staff and client representatives.

Essential Functions

·         Prepares corporate, partnership and S-corporation tax returns.

·         Prepares more complex personal tax returns.

·         Responds to and assists the tax staff in responding to tax notices.

·         Prepares adjusting journal entries for trial balances prior to preparing tax returns.

·         Conduct tax interviews with clients.

·         Request, collect and compile all necessary documents.

·         Advise business owners and individuals regarding tax code.

·         Keep highly organized and updated client files.

·         Prepare tax plans.

·         Collaborate with other tax professionals, managers and partners in the firm for an optimized workflow.

Required Experience

·         At least two (2) years’ experience preparing individual, corporate, partnership, and S-Corp tax returns.

·         At least one (1) year of experience using computerized tax preparation, tax planning, and tax research software.

Educational Requirements

·         Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or bachelor’s degree in another discipline with various course work in taxes and accounting, through intermediate level.
