Job DescriptionJob Description

A successful Hobbs Tower Solutions Project Engineer is responsible for supporting in-coming cooling tower requests from our bids department, engineering firms, sales department, and end users. This candidate will be responsible for delivering quick and concise cooling tower quotes in a timely manner. This candidate will be responsible for following up on all cooling tower quotes, entering information gained from each quote to help with the proper pricing and selection of cooling tower jobs in the future. In this role, the candidate will operate as part of the HTS team and learn to properly communicate any opportunities gained that may help Hobbs and Associates become a more successful organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other functions may be assigned.

· Develops positive relationships with product representatives, Hobbs leadership and employee teams.

· Develops general working knowledge of Hobbs & Associates, Inc., products, services, and solutions.

· Acts as the branch liaison and technical expert on Marley/SPX for the Hobbs Tower Solutions group.

· Operates as the sales team’s go to for cooling tower questions, engineering selections and technical inquiries.

· Learn the SPX Marley Cool Spec cooling tower selection tools.

· Gains understanding on a variety of tower types and learns competitor strengths and weaknesses.

· Develops into the sales team’s technical trainer and resource on: Heat transfer, Evaporation, Thermodynamics and Water quality.

· Interprets engineering drawings and design specifications for cooling towers jobs.

· Generates and/or inspects for accuracy, cooling tower estimates and proposals.

· Maintains a bid list and pipeline of all projects and stays current on the proposal deadlines associated with each job.

· Distributes and reviews cooling tower quotes to bid captains.

· Executes on a follow up plan to understand the project status of each cooling tower bid.

· Ability to understand the SPX Marley replacement parts catalog, be able to fill in with the parts request when needed.

· Must be proficient in MS word, excel and other computer programs essential for this position.

QUALIFICATIONS & MINIMUM REQUIREMENT INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING:

· Requires a Bachelor of Science Degree in a technical or business-related field.

· Excellent oral/written communication skills.

· Well-developed presentation skills.

· Excellent customer relations skills.

· Ability to function independently and deliver results.

· Subjected to detail-oriented tasks while under pressure.

· Must work fluidly in team environments and be able to clearly communicate information in a concise and timely manner.

· Requires literacy in interpreting business financials and be able to adhere to company standard operating procedures.

· Proficiency in basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.
