Job Title: Check Out Medical Assistant
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am - 6:00pm.
Salary: $16.50.- $19.00 hr. Depending on experience.
Responsibilities:
1. Patient Checkout:
Complete the Check-Out Process: Ensure that patients are checked out properly after their appointments, including confirming that all necessary paperwork and payments are handled.
Collect Payments: Process co-pays, deductibles, and any other patient payments. Handle cash, credit card transactions, and provide receipts as needed.
2. Schedule Follow-Up Appointments:
Appointment Scheduling: Schedule follow-up visits or additional tests as recommended by the physician. Ensure that appointments are set at convenient times for the patient and that the schedule is managed effectively.
Appointment Reminders: Provide patients with appointment reminders and instructions for any pre-appointment preparations or special instructions.
3. Insurance and Billing:
Verify Insurance Information: Check and update insurance information and verify coverage for services rendered. Assist with any insurance-related questions or issues.
Billing and Coding: Prepare and process billing statements and insurance claims. Ensure that all charges are accurate and complete.
4. Patient Communication:
Provide Instructions: Give patients clear instructions regarding post-visit care, including any medications, follow-up tests, or lifestyle changes.
Address Concerns: Address any questions or concerns that patients might have about their visit, billing, or future appointments.
5. Record Keeping:
Update Patient Records: Ensure that patient records are updated with information from the visit, including any follow-up instructions or additional notes.
Maintain Confidentiality: Handle all patient information in accordance with privacy regulations and maintain confidentiality.
