Job DescriptionJob Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Director of Finance to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the organization, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The Director of Finance will also manage payroll, tax compliance, employee benefits programs, and workers' compensation insurance coverage. This position requires providing guidance and coaching to the accounting department staff, collaborating with operational managers, and driving process improvements to enhance the overall financial performance of the organization.

Essential Job Functions:

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and best practices.

• Produce periodic financial statements and account reconciliations.

• Create, maintain, and improve month-end and year-end close checklists.

• Develop and manage yearly budgets.

• Execute semi-monthly payroll processing.

• Conduct quarterly physical inventory assessments and necessary adjustments.

• Maintain sales tax compliance.

• Manage and record journal entries.

• Administer and maintain employee benefits programs.

• Oversee workers' compensation insurance coverage.

• Prepare and file property tax documentation.

• Facilitate new employee onboarding processes.

• Provide documents and support to an external accounting firm while preparing company taxes.

• Provide ad hoc reporting as requested by internal stakeholders.

• Prepare annual budgets, forecasts, and estimates.

• Communicate recommendations of continuous improvement to operational managers regarding financial reporting.

• Ensure that the accounting department is staffed with qualified financial personnel.

• Provide treasury management including oversight of A/R, A/P & bank reconciliations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

• 5+ years of accounting experience with escalating responsibilities.

• Proven experience in managing a finance or accounting department in a supervisory role.

• Familiarity with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

•Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
