Covenant House Incorporated is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team You will be responsible for a variety of duties such as maintaining the general ledger, reviewing financial statements, preparing financial reports, assisting with audits and budgeting processes, and reconciling accounts.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reports
  • Develop and analyze reporting for business operations and budgets
  • Perform audits, ensuring adherence to standard requirements
  • Create new processes to improve financial efficiency
  • Report analysis and findings to the management team

​Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in accounting or other related fields
  • Fundamental knowledge of GAAP
  • Experience with current computer accounting programs and reporting tools
  • Experience with MIP Accounting Software is a plus
  • Detail and deadline-oriented
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or similar discipline
  • At least 2 years of experience
  • Familiarity with accounting programs, MIP Accounting Software is a plus
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel
