JLN Contracting is growing and is seeking a Construction Project Superintendent to join our highly-experienced team in our Connecticut and New Hampshire offices. We are a dynamic and growing firm that provides pre-construction and construction services to the Industrial, Commercial, Financial, Medical, Retail and Automotive market sectors throughout the Northeast. POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The primary role of a Project Superintendent is to administer the day-to-day construction activities for our ongoing projects. This task involves monitoring project plans, schedules, work hours, budgets, and expenditures, organizing and participating in stakeholder meetings, and ensuring that project deadlines are met in a timely manner. The Project Superintendent works in concert with the Project Manager in the oversight and accountability for project planning, scheduling, cost management, contract administration and safety management.

In this role you will be an essential member of the core team helping to grow our business with high energy and talent to elevate and lead our construction business.

POSITION DUTIES:

  • Review and coordinate construction drawings with tenants, architects, engineers and subcontractors.
  • Supervise all construction activities on the project site.
  • Complete all required weekly documents, including but not limited to, daily reports, photos, safety check list, and tool box talks.
  • Attend weekly job meetings, with JLN team and clients.
  • Maintain strict quality controls and perform regular quality inspections to ensure the final work product is of the highest quality standard.
  • Maintain schedule and job site safety to achieve completion of project on time.
  • Ensure specified and approved products are installed properly.
  • Monitor project compliance with contract documents and safety – daily.
  • Manage project closeouts, including punch list and final documentation.
  • Schedule and coordinate all inspections, permits, sign-offs and requests with local authorities.
  • Promote team work- exhibit dependability, responsibility, loyalty, flexibility and a positive attitude.
  • This position is responsible for the oversight of other team members.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Project Superintendent in Commercial and/or Retail Construction.
  • Computer program proficiency including, but not limited to, Microsoft Outlook, Project, Word & Excel.
  • Massachusetts Construction Supervisor’s License (CSL preferred).
  • OSHA 10 certified (mandatory).
  • OSHA 30 certified (preferred).
  • Must be willing to travel throughout CT, MA, ME, NH, RI, VT and NY.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent work experience, in Construction Supervision, Management, Architecture, engineering or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Experience with project planning and scheduling, contracts, and project controls and procedures.
  • Competency in the use of entire Microsoft Office Suite required.
