Job Title: Quality Control Inspector

Position reports to: Quality Control Manager

Position backed by: Quality Manager or Designated Department Foreman

Department: Quality

Job Summary:

Examine and inspect materials, finished parts, and fabricated products for defects and wear to ensure conformance with work orders, diagrams, blueprints and customer specifications completeness.

Essential Functions:

  • Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products and recommend necessary corrective actions.
  • Examine and inspect materials, finished parts, and fabricated products for defects and wear to insure conformance to customer specifications
  • Notify supervisors and other personnel of production problems and assist in identifying and correcting these problems.
  • Discard or reject products, materials, and equipment not meeting specifications.
  • Mark items with details such as acceptance or rejection status.
  • Record inspection data and calibration data.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Skills:

  • Quality Control Analysis - Conduct inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
  • Reading Comprehension - Understanding written instruction and details.
  • Active Listening - Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Instructing - Teaching others how to perform tasks.
  • Learning Strategies - Selecting and using training/instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new skills.
