Our client seeks an ambitious Associate Attorney to join their civil litigation/debt collection practice. Licensed new grads welcome

This is a full time, direct hire opportunity where you will earn up to $95,000 per year, based on your experience. You will work Monday-Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm. Plus, enjoy an excellent benefits package.

Some of your responsibilities as Associate Attorney will include working in courthouses and with attorneys, as well as:

  • Litigating and managing various civil law matters
    • Creditor’s rights, insurance subrogation, commercial contracts, and other general civil litigation matters
  • Overseeing the completion and filing of motions and written discovery
  • Reviewing, researching, and developing legal theories and case strategy for incoming claims
  • Appearing and representing clients in court proceeding
  • Pre-trial preparation including witness coordination and exhibit filings
  • Traveling to various courthouses (vehicle provided)
  • Other duties as assigned

To qualify for the Associate Attorney position, you must have:

  • License to practice law in Iowa, Missouri or Kansas
    • Willing to get licensed in multiple states is a plus, not required
  • Litigation/Collections experience is ideal, not required
  • Prior experience in court and an understanding of courtroom procedures
  • Understanding of Iowa Rules of Civil Procedure and Rules of Evidence
  • Ability to take initiative
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent attendance
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to multi-task
