Project Superintendent for Construction Projects

Project Superintendent Role and Responsibilities:
We are looking for a Project Manager to oversee construction projects. Reporting to the Project Manager and/or Operations Manager, this role involves:
Pre-Project:

  • Attending pre-bid meetings and assisting with project estimates.

Project Preparation:

  • Reviewing plans and specifications.
  • Developing mobilization and project plans (work plans, budgets, strategy, schedules).
  • Assisting with personnel and equipment selection.
  • Meeting with clients to discuss goals, challenges, and project risks.

Project Execution:

  • Overseeing mobilization, setup, work assignments, teardown, and demobilization.
  • Supervising project and field engineers.
  • Directing assignments with superintendents.

Project Management:

  • Managing project crew and staff.
  • Ensuring accurate internal and external reporting (daily logs, production, safety, client, and environmental reports).
  • Monitoring and analyzing production to maximize efficiency.
  • Managing financial aspects including procurement and cost control (fuel, labor, consumables).
  • Participating in safety and environmental initiatives to ensure compliance with regulations.

Project Superintendent Qualifications:

  • Experience supervising construction projects up to $10M.
  • Ability to read and analyze construction documents.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to enforce company policies and safety rules.
  • Willingness to travel and work remotely for extended periods.
  • Reliability and motivation.
  • Ability to obtain TWIC.
  • Strong teamwork and stress management skills.
  • Physical/Mental Requirements:
  • Ability to perform job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Proper use of PPE (hard hats, safety glasses, life vests, respirators, ear plugs, steel-toed shoes, PFDs).
  • Physical ability to navigate job sites, including climbing and lifting up to 30lbs (or more with assistance).
  • Ability to work in confined areas, elevated heights, and varying environmental conditions.
  • Compliance with all safety responsibilities as outlined in training.
