Pre-commissioning Engineer Job Summary

we are seeking a Pre-commissioning Engineer to support project execution. The Pipeline Hydrotesting and Pre-commissioning Engineer will report to either the Installation Engineering Manager or the Operations Manager depending on the project execution phase.

Pre-commissioning Engineer Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the Hydrotesting and Pre-commissioning engineering activities are properly managed and correctly performed
  • Be responsible for following, planning, supervising, and coordinating the Hydrotesting and Pre-commissioning operation on site.
  • Organize and coordinate the activities of the Hydrotesting and Pre-commissioning team assigned, providing technical and administrative guidance to ensure that aims and objectives are effectively and economically achieved.
  • Prepare the discipline check and/or review of documents, calculations, drawings, and schedules.
  • Perform the technical and commercial evaluation of the Hydrotesting and Pre-commissioning Subcontractors activity in comparison with the in-house equipment and personnel cost estimation.
  • Ensure technical coordination with all other phases of work, including attendance at interface meetings.
  • Attend meetings with Client regarding critical issues arising from the Hydrotesting and Pre-commissioning activities.
  • Responsible for the planning, mobilization and operation on site of the Hydrotesting and Pre-commissioning equipment and personnel assigned to the project.
  • Lead the Hydrotesting and Pre-commissioning engineering and construction activities on site.
  • Administer and coordinate the Hydrotesting and Pre-commissioning Subcontractor and its activity on site.
  • Ensure adequate training for the Hydrotesting and Pre-commissioning Engineers both in office and on site.
  • Participate and contribute to:
    • Project progress meeting,
    • Engineering coordination meetings
    • Interface meetings with Clients, other Contractors, and Sub-Contractors
    • Technical review meeting (concerning Procurement, Engineering, Fabrication, Operation, Interface)
    • HSE meetings
    • Risk Assessment

Pre-commissioning Engineer Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 2+ years of pre-commissioning/commissioning experience in Oil&Gas offshore projects
  • Available for offshore missions supporting offshore operations also on short notice
  • Demonstrated experience in managing subcontractors
  • Demonstrated experience in a client-facing role
  • This position requires technical and relational skills.
