Summary

The Process Engineering Sr. Specialist is responsible for overall machines and facility maintenance and quick troubleshooting to make sure of hassle free production running.

 

Essential Functions (To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Manage processing, approve documentation & provide instruction regarding process engineering process.
  • Maintenance of process recipe program and first aides in inoperative condition.
  • Maintaining real time communication with HQ concerned parties to achieve latest test programs.
  • Interface with quality, production and customer on new product/process launches.
  • Manage evaluation method regarding machine trouble and review reporting on periodic maintenance results.
  • Manage control of process engineering through the development and use of Process Flow Charts, SPC, Operator Work Instructions and operating alerts.
  • Manage direction of addressing process engineering issues as required.
  • Verification of Poke Yoke systems.
  • Manage internal LPA (Layered Process Audit) and follow up regarding findings to correct responsible parties.
  • Manage establishment of effective corrective action (8D or 5-Why) to address process issues in all products. Ensure all internal and external communications are delivered in a timely manner.
  • Read and interpret drawings and manufacturing aides.
  • Coordinate & perform process audit for machine qualification or process changes.
  • Verify that gauges, check fixtures, and other measuring devices are being utilized and maintained as stated in the Control Plan.
  • Comply with and provide safety in the work places, to include attendance at safety meetings as well as conduct safety meetings when necessary.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electric/Electronic/Computer Engineering field

Our process begins in the sprawling 600,000 square-foot Plastics plant where we use injection molding to produce front and rear bumpers, instrument panel frames, and after-service parts. Our bumpers are molded and painted in-house. Bumpers for HMMA are also assembled in-house before transfer to HMMA for final assembly, while bumpers for KMMG are sent to our sister plant in Georgia for assembly. After molding, instrument panel frames move to the Module plant next door where we prepare them to receive additional parts to form a complete Cockpit (dashboard) assembly. Also in the Module building are our front and rear Chassis (vehicle suspension) assembly lines. Here, parts from Tier 2 and 3 suppliers are assembled into completed Chassis modules which are transported to nearby HMMA for final vehicle assembly.
