Interstate Local CDL-A Driver

Job Summary

The Driver is responsible for providing timely, accurate, and safe deliveries of liquid bulk commodities in multiple states. The Driver provides excellent customer service by collaborating diligently and expeditiously with dispatchers and customers daily. This position requires availability 5-6 days per week, including weekends, depending on business need and requires early morning starts to allow for the driver to be home every night (barring operational issues outside of our control, i.e. breakdowns, severe weather, road closures, etc.).

Compensation

$23.00/hour during training (typically lasts 1 week)

$26.50/hour post training

Role Expectations

  • Inspect vehicle before and after use according to DOT and company standards.
  • Loading trailers and filling customer owned tanks as assigned.
  • Use of various equipment including opening valves, hoses, air compressors, gauges and meters.
  • Maintain DOT and company vehicle documents, ensuring they are properly completed.
  • Work closely with customers to Quick-Way, Inc. meets their expectations, listen to and report customer complaints or concerns or questions to Dispatcher.
  • Ensure all safety rules are strictly observed.
  • Assure the truck remains in proper and safe working order and that routine and required maintenance occurs on a timely basis.
  • Complete additional safety and industry training as required.
  • Comply with all Federal, State, and local laws regulating safe driving and the safe and proper handling of materials.
  • Immediately notify the Dispatcher of malfunctioning equipment or condition that needs immediate action.
  • Maintain appropriate driver’s license with needed endorsements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Driver Qualifications

  • Must have 2 years verifiable CDL driving experience.
  • Must have a valid class A with tanker endorsement.
  • Must be able to pass DOT physical & drug screen.
  • TWIC Card Preferred
  • MVR must be approved by Fleet Insurance
  • No DWI or reckless driving convictions in the past 10 years
  • No more than 2 moving violations and/or accidents in the past 36 months combined.
  • No history of license suspension for a moving violation in the past 36 months
  • Current Hazmat Endorsements strongly preferred.
  • Valid credentials to cross Canadian border (Enhanced Driver’s License, PASS Card or Passport) strongly preferred.
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Demonstrate safe driving practices.
  • Able to follow verbal/written directions, read maps, follow GPS.
  • Able to work well alone.
  • Reliable and punctual with dedicated professionalism to job and duties
  • Able to adapt to changing schedules or routines.
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Organized and able to follow a schedule.
  • Positive attitude and professional demeanor
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Must be able to pass criminal background check.
  • Physically able to lift and carry objects up from 30 to 50 pounds.
  • Physically able to reach, stretch, bend, and sit for long periods of time during daily routine.
  • Able to work at night, early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
