Overview: 
Our client is currently looking for an experienced and dynamic BI-LINGUAL CONTROLLER to oversee and provide strategic direction for all accounting activities within our organization. Reporting directly to the AVP of Accounting and serving as a key advisor to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Controller will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting across various departments. 
 Responsibilities: 
•    Set the strategy and provide direction for accounting activities including accounts payable, cash application, credit & collections, fixed assets, payroll, revenue accounting, shipboard financial operations, shoreside hotel and marine accounting, corporate accounting, and general ledger maintenance. 
•    Collaborate with the AVP of Accounting to ensure timely and accurate monthly financial closes of the general ledger. 
•    Oversee the timely dissemination of financial information to relevant stakeholders. 
•    Serve as a key advisor to the CFO, providing insights and recommendations on financial matters. 
•    Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. 
•    Lead and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. 
•    Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the accounting function. 
•    Liaise with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and address any audit findings or recommendations. 
•    Stay abreast of accounting standards, regulations, and best practices, and ensure compliance with evolving requirements. 
Qualifications: 
•    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred. 
•    10+ years of progressive experience in accounting roles, with 5 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity. 
•    Experience in the wholesale distribution industry
•    Strong technical accounting skills with a deep understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting requirements. 
•    Proven track record of successfully leading accounting teams and driving process improvements. 
•    Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail. 
•    Effective communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts to nonfinancial stakeholders. 
•    Bi-lingual in Spanish and English is mandatory as there will be continuous communication with Latin America vendors overseas
•    Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively. 
•    Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office suite, with advanced Excel skills. 

This is a direct hire position with full benefits. Salary: $120K - $150K based upon experience
