Empowering Global Exchange Through Local Connections

As independent contractors, coordinators play a pivotal role in matching foreign exchange students with volunteer American host families and providing dedicated support throughout the school year. This role allows you to unlock opportunities and enrich lives.

While much of the communication of a local coordinator is conducted remotely, they also engage in essential face-to-face interactions with families and students in the local community as required. This dynamic role seamlessly blends remote support with personal connections to ensure a successful exchange experience for all involved.

Local Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Recruit local families interested in hosting exchange students, fostering cultural understanding and friendship.
  • Guide families through the approval process with care and expertise.
  • Collaborate closely with local schools to facilitate smooth student placements.
  • Conduct engaging pre-arrival orientations for host families and student orientations.
  • Coordinate volunteer activities to enrich the exchange experience.
  • Provide attentive monitoring and support to students throughout the school year.

What Greenheart Offers:

  • A supportive team environment, where your contributions are valued and recognized.
  • Comprehensive initial and ongoing training to empower you for success.
  • Exciting travel incentives (our fall conference is in Lake Garda, Italy).
  • Generous monitoring and placement payments to acknowledge your commitment and efforts.
  • Training and support to obtain the Secondary School Student Program Certification.
  • Flexible schedule: Local Coordinators typically dedicate 5-15 hours per week on average.
  • Referral program.

Join us as a local coordinator today and become a crucial part of our global network Together, let's bridge cultures, create lasting memories, and make a positive impact on the world, one student at a time.
