Sand Blast / Painter

Position Overview:

Responsible for application technique of primer and topcoat to provide a durable and aesthetically.

acceptable finished product.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

·         Prepare and paint metal components including bodywork, contour shaping and sanding.

·         Spray application of epoxy paints, urethane epoxy coatings, using a high-volume low-pressure spray gun.

·         Check expiration dates of materials prior to use, prepare proper mixes of resins and catalysts.

Desired Skills and Experience:

·         Read, write, and follow written and verbal instructions.

·         Be able to mix paint and hardener materials.

·         Be proficient in the operation of spray booths/ovens and all aspects of the application and curing of coating materials.  

·         Be proficient in the use of the following tools such as spray gun, sander, high speed grinder, calibration equipment, calipers, dual action sander, etc.

·         Be able to work under time constraints and within schedule.

·         Must keep and maintain a clean working environment.

·         Must use a respirator or a dust mask when performing most tasks.

·         May be required to push or pull heavy materials.

·         Operate overhead crane and drive a fork truck as required.

·         When production varies, may be required to work in other departments as required.

·         Use the required personal protective equipment at all times and be familiar with all safety standards.

·         Have your own tools.

·         Work overtime as may be required.

·         Must be self-motivated and work independently with limited supervision.
