SUMMARY The Director of Performance and Neuro will implement the Barwis Methods and Neurological Reengineering training protocols tailored to the needs of clients and ensuring the delivery of high-quality training sessions for personal training, sport specific training, group classes, team training, and neurological re-engineering.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Performance Training, Personal Training and Neurological Re-engineering
- Coach all general fitness enthusiasts, athletes, and teams with the Barwis Methods Training Program
- Use BARWIS Methods individualized training plans and programs to help progress all amateur and professional athletes at a variety of ages and levels
- Coach clients with neurological disorders/spinal cord injuries implementing the
BARWIS Neurological Re-engineering Program
- Lead the performance testing, Total Athlete Package Program, biomechanical testing and adapt programming for these groups/individuals off of the data.
- Review client goals and objectives, and keep record of training activities when training individuals or teams
BARWIS Neurological Re-engineering Program
- Interact with coaches of teams to provide programming that meets their goals and expectations and/or direct performance coach in charge of a team to interact with coach.
- Run and manage on-site/off-site training for teams and community partners.
- Stay updated with the many layers to BARWIS Methodologies and continuously improve usage of training methodologies and techniques.
Operational
- Ensure that clients have checked in and have a waiver on file before beginning.
- Work with the front desk to set up training hours, schedules, schedule changes, days off, etc.
- Keep the weight room clean/ maintained with weekly equipment maintenance checks.
- Partner with Group Fit Manager to implement sports performance classes: Bootcamp/Stay Strong, Collegiate Performance, High School Performance, Youth, etc.
- Report any accident/injury with clients and staff and fill out appropriate forms.
- Participate/assist in community outreach, lead generation, and follow-ups with clients as directed from sales and marketing teams.
- Conduct assessments/evaluations to measure trainer’s learning progress and advise on training programs accordingly.
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
This Director of Performance and Neuro must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities to demonstrate they can perform the essential functions of the job, along with the physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Strong Leadership with excellent judgment, dependability, conscientious performance and the awareness to prioritize what matters most.
- Detail Oriented with strong organizational and management skills and can shift between driving strategy and managing a large volume of operational details in the fitness department.
- Financial Acumen with understanding of the impact of revenue in relation to services and basic accounting standards.
- The ability to respond appropriately under pressure.
- Sound judgment and excellent problem-solving skills.
- Superb written and verbal communication skill
- A positive attitude and the ability to build relationships with clients.
CREDENTIALS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, or a related field recommended.
- Previous experience in a customer service role
- At least 3 years of experience in the Fitness Industry
- Previous management experience in the fitness, gym or wellness industry
- CPR and AED certification
