We are currently seeking a Shipping Clerk in Plymouth, MI.

Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm or 8:00 am to 5:00 pm- Flexible

Pay: $18.00 - $18.50/HR DOE.

Position: Full-time, Temp-to-hire opportunity

Job Summary:
The Shipping Clerk is responsible for administrative functions in the area of import, clearance of items, customs, and receiving.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Create delivery orders and arrange fright pick-ups
• Entry inputs and electronic filing for US Customs through a web-based portal
• Correspond with clients via email and/or verbally with freight forwarders daily
• Utilize Excel including pivot tables and merging spreadsheets
• Vendor Payables including processing/coding freight bills and freight forwarding weekly charges
• Post Entry Audits/Statement processing
• Archive and scan all custom entries once completed
• Monitor daily inbound freight and identify discrepancies in SAP
• Ocean Shipment tracking and tracing daily using the web portal
• Filing AES (Automated Export System) records in the US web portal
• All other duties as assigned

Requirements and Qualifications:

• 1+ years of Administrative Support experience in a Manufacturing/Logistics organization
• High School Diploma/GED
• Knowledge of domestic and international shipping processes/tools
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and other MS Office products
• Self-starter and multitasker
• MUST have strong data entry and analytical experience
• Outstanding verbal and written communication
• Punctual with a good job ethic
• Experience utilizing SAP and AES software
