Salon Guest Services Specialist

Salon guest services associate's responsibilities include greeting customers upon their arrival, answering clients’ questions about services via phone, email or in person and processing transactions. To be successful in this role, you should be highly organized and able to manage clients with grace, even during peak demand.
Ultimately, you will help boost our reputation by building friendly, trusting relationships with customers.
A LITTLE INFORMATION ABOUT US: We are a luxurious salon located in the heart of the city and have been catering to a large number of guests since 2013. We offer hair, lashes, brows and teeth whitening services. We specialize in eyelash extensions, hand tied hair extensions and balayage/blonding. Located in the heart of Mount Pleasant, we cater to a specific clientele that loves all things beauty related. Our salon is dedicated to education and making sure every staff member has the most up to date education.
Providing an exceptional front desk experience is of the upmost importance to us. We want to make sure that guests leave feeling happy but also taking home products to maintain their look. Building a long term relationship with our clients is extremely important and we take pride in making sure that clients feel appreciated. We believe that the sales desk and staff members can work hand in hand together to provide clients with the best experience from walking in the door to leaving after their service. We are extremely team oriented and care about every member of the staff. Team building activities and group goals are important to our culture. With the right mindset and work ethic, this job position will be very fun and lucrative. To ensure success as a salon guest service associate, you should possess excellent organizational and marketing skills. Our salon guest services associate should be able to remain calm in stressful situations and provide excellent customer service and support.
SALON HOURS: Tuesday-Friday 9:00am-9:00pm and Saturday 9:00am-3:00pm. Closed on Sunday & Monday.
COMPENSATION: The pay scale is determined on the level of experience and education. We always excited to promote in the company based on work ethic and team skills
Sales Associate Skills:
- Greeting clients, checking clients in & out
- Answering phones & assisting clients with retail
- Competitive pay
- Manage stylists schedules & communicate changes
- Provide exceptional customer service to all clients
- Cleaning reception area & making sure inventory is dusted and restocked
- Opening and closing the money drawer
- Able to work Tuesday-Saturday (accommodations can be met with certain situations.)
- Proven work experience as a retail sales associate, sales representative or similar.
- Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
- Communication - able to communicate often and efficiently with owner, manager, staff and clients (required)
- Working knowledge of customer and market dynamics and requirements
- Track record of over-achieving sales quota
- Hands-on experience with POS transactions
- Familiarity with inventory procedures
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills
- A friendly and energetic personality with customer service focus
- Ability to perform under pressure and address complaints in a timely manner
- Extremely organized - keeping the front sales area tidy and making sure products are stocked and lined up correctly (highly recommended)
- Passion for the beauty industry - excited to learn everything we offer and provide at the salon and maintaining a fashion forward, trendy appearance and style (preferred)
- Self motivated - doesn't need a lot of hand holding (required)
- Team player - willing to participate in group event activities and meetings (required)
- Goal oriented - able to meet weekly goals set for the sales desk (highly recommended)
- Motivated - caring about going above and beyond to maintain or even improve on anything that that needs improvement (highly recommended)
- Willing to come in early or stay late as needed (not required but is a plus)
- Retail & services at cost/extremely discounted
- Complimentary Starbucks coffee and/or lunch for doing well at desk
- Opportunities to attend salon conferences/hair shows with the team - hotel is always paid for with traveling for salon related events
