Staff Accountant

Responsibilities; include but are not limited to:

· Prepare tax returns and tax planning - individual and business

· Assist with compilation, review, and audit engagements, in a variety of industries

· Participate in valuation engagements

· Conduct tax research and assist with tax notices

Skills/Attributes:

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business accounting, or finance

· Internship or professional accounting experience; one to three years

· A natural passion for math, and a strong understanding of the intricacies of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, and other financial transactions

· Ability and willingness to maintain confidentiality

· Knowledge of basic accounting functions and the ability to work with technical accuracy, attention to detail and compliance with instructions

· Must be able to organize, prioritize and coordinate workload to meet critical deadlines

· Must demonstrate self-motivation, flexibility, and strong interpersonal skills

· Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, QuickBooks, tax and workpaper management software

Preferred Qualifications:

· Pursuit of Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is a plus but not required

· Experience in Individual tax preparation and small business accounting

· Desire to continue to grow through continuing education

Job Type: Full-time Physical setting: In office

 

Salary Range (based on experience): $55,000 to $75,000
