The QC Inspector will perform in-coming, in-process and final inspection operations on circuit card and module assemblies utilizing a microscope and mechanical tools. Elements of a circuit card assembly include components, solder, adhesive and hardware. Modules include circuit card assemblies, cables/harnesses, solder and hardware. Inspection is in accordance with IPC-A-620, IPC J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610.


Responsibilities

  • Responsible for performing incoming, in-process, 1st article and final inspections, related to mechanical parts and assemblies.
  • Review data for accuracy such as route cards, data sheets in alignment with product and quality system requirements.
  • Document workmanship issues on the process sheet.
  • Ensure incoming material documents are correct and work directly with the Procurement Department to address any supplier document issues.
  • Regularly interact and communicate with all departments to assure product is correct and on schedule.
  • Monitor and input data into ERP system and maintain inspection reports.
  • Create and Maintain Non-Conforming Material Reports (NCMR)
  • Create and issue Certificates of Compliance on customer products.
  • Assist with ISO documentation, procedures, and annual audit.
  • Identify, clearly label, and properly stow incoming chemicals on the manufacturing floor.
  • Maintain Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)

Understanding of 5S principals and personal accountability for workspace and tooling. Other duties as required by Quality Assurance Manager to comply with the Quality System

Requirements:

Skills

  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks to ensure deadlines are met in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to sit at an inspection workbench and utilize a microscope for portions of the workday.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills include MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to record and maintain accurate clear records of data recorded during inspection activities.
  • Able to read and interpret mechanical drawings, GD&T, Assembly and Electronic schematics, hands-on inspection of circuit card, electronic flex assemblies to J-STD-001/IPC610/IPC620 standards.

Education/Training/Experience

  • 3+ years Quality experience.
  • Certification of J-STD-001/IPC610 and IPC620 preferred.
  • Understanding of ISO9001 and AS9100 requirements.
  • Experience using a microscope.
  • Experience using mechanical tools, calipers, height gage, micrometers, etc.
  • Experience working within ESD and FOD controlled environments.
  • Experience participating in ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 audits, as well as leading internal audit efforts is preferred.
  • CMM experience is a plus.
