Location: Louisville, KY, 40118
Pay Rate: $19/hr
Schedule: Monday - Friday (11:30am-8:00pm EST) **Onsite as needed
Job Description:
As a Pharmacy Technician, you'll play a crucial role in supporting team members, physicians, and patients with various daily activities, including data entry, phone call handling, and assisting in clarifying physician orders. These orders are essential components of patient care and are dispatched by our dedicated pharmacy warehouse staff to designated patients or providers as outlined in the patient profile.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain in-depth knowledge of pharmacy policies and government regulations, accurately entering prescription information accordingly.
Assist in quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.
Calculate doses required for patients based on prescription and prescribing guidelines.
Enter prescription information into the pharmacy dispensing system for pharmacist review.
Record prescription clarifications provided by pharmacists into the computer system.
Provide assistance to patients and providers by answering phone calls and directing them to the appropriate team or personnel as necessary.
Understand and implement programs based on specific guidelines to ensure efficient operations.
Required Qualifications:
Registration with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy (proof of registration required).
Demonstrated success in a team-oriented environment.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to convey ideas clearly.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and handle multiple tasks effectively.
PTCB Certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience in pharmacy data entry.
Ability to apply basic algebra concepts.
Prior experience in client-facing roles over the phone.
Education:
High School Graduate or equivalent GED.
