General Purpose of Job: Assist driver with residential waste collection.

Essential Functions:

* Perform curb pick up collections by dumping all cans and garbage in the truck

* Working as a spotter for the driver

* Ensure compliance with company policies, safety and maintenance procedures

* Trained to fuel and dump refuse trucks in the landfill

* Clean refuse trucks inside and out

* Help navigate the driver safely for the route

* Operate the mechanics on the rear of the vehicle

* Dismount truck to collect garbage and remount the truck to ride to next collection

* Communicate with dispatchers concerning delays, unsafe routes, accidents, equipment breakdowns

* Keep informed of weather conditions

Equipment/Tools Used: Trucks, seat belts, mechanics in rear of truck

Protective Clothing & Equipment Used: Reflective vest, gloves, steel-toe boots

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

* Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures

* May be exposed to solvents, chemicals and refuse

* May be exposed to other risks associated with working around machines, tools, and trucks
