Job Description:
The Nut House on Route 66 seeks a courteous, customer-focused Part-Time Deli Worker committed to delivering exceptional service. Responsibilities include greeting customers, accurately taking orders, explaining menu items, and unloading food supplies from delivery trucks. Teamwork is essential to completing large orders on time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide responsive, exceptional service to deli counter customers.
- Answer customer questions, make recommendations, and provide samples.
- Prepare sandwich ingredients by washing, cutting, slicing, chopping, and grating per guidelines.
- Neatly prepare sandwiches according to customer orders.
- Recommend, slice, weigh, package, and price meats and cheeses.
- Prepare soups, bake pies, and other desserts.
- Make special orders and party trays.
- Cooperate with team members to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Explain menu options to customers as needed.
- Operate the POS system and handle customer transactions accurately.
- Update displays and cases with new items and promotions.
- Ensure all displays, products, and services meet company standards.
- Maintain clean and orderly workstations by cleaning surfaces, equipment, and floors, removing trash, and ensuring tools are in working order.
- Properly sanitize utensils and dishes before each use.
- Follow all food safety regulations while storing, preparing, and serving food.
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum age of 18.
- Experience in deli counter or food preparation is required.
- Ability to lift 25 to 50 lbs and operate equipment such as meat and cheese slicers, scales, and cash registers.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and math skills.
- Ability to understand and follow all company procedures and food handling and sanitation regulations.
- Courteous and efficient handling of customer requests, questions, and complaints.
Compensation:
- Starting wage: $11 per hour and up based on experience.
- Tips and commissions on product sales.
