KEY SKILLS:

· Must have Shipping Clerk experience.
· Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
· Good computer skills. 
· Ability to lift 35 to 40 pounds on a repetitive basis.
· Attention to detail with accuracy.
· Ability to follow various customer work instructions.
· Ability to count, weigh count, and record data accurately.

SCHEDULE:

  1st Shift.
  Four 10-hour days, Monday through Thursday.

BENEFITS:

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

·          Drives van daily to local suppliers and warehouse.

·          Verify and maintain records on incoming and outgoing shipments.

·          Compare and identify information; including count, weight, or measure items of incoming and outgoing shipments against bill of
            lading, invoice, order, or other records.

·          Prepare and apply the shipping label to package and/or mark package with accurate shipping information.

·          Use stamps, stencils, or glues to record shipping information and/or instructions onto crates or containers.

·          Pack items into containers, using spacers, fillers, protective padding, and plastic wrap.

·          Cover nails on wooden crates and bind containers with metal strapping as instructed.

·          Print and post weight and shipping charge label to package.

·          Ensure accurate entry of product receipts into “stock” utilizing the ERP system.

·          Perform material “picks” and update the ERP system accurately.

·          Run shipping report daily and ensure all customer orders are shipped on time.

·          Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, and record shortages.

·          Correspond with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.

·          Routes items to departments.

·          Examines outgoing shipments to ensure that shipments meet all specifications according to the customer's requirements.

·          Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.

·          Determine the method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.

·          May operate tier‐lift truck or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping‐and‐receiving platform to storage
            or work area or to load or unload delivery vehicle. Must have forklift certification before operating one.

·          Assist others in the shipping process.

·          Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.

·          Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions.

·          Utilize and abide by all applicable Quality Standards and OSHA requirements and safety procedures.

·          Perform all required checks and complete documentation accurately.

·          Perform general housekeeping functions.

·          Perform all other work assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  Ability to lift at least 40 pounds on a repetitive basis.
  Body mobility.
  Excellent eyesight (with glasses).
  Good communication skills.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  Minimum 2 years related experience or training or a combination of both.
  High School Diploma or GED preferred.
