Job DescriptionJob Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Concrete Foreman to join our team in the role of overseeing concrete patching operations on bridge projects throughout WV. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in concrete construction, particularly in bridge repair and maintenance. They should be knowledgeable about safety protocols, possess leadership qualities, and be capable of effectively managing a team of workers to ensure projects are completed on time and to the highest standards.

Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise and coordinate concrete patching activities on bridges according to project specifications, schedules, and budgetary constraints.
  2. Lead and manage a team of concrete workers, assigning tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring adherence to safety regulations and quality standards.
  3. Plan and organize resources, including equipment, materials, and manpower, to efficiently execute bridge patching projects.
  4. Conduct pre-job meetings to review project plans, safety procedures, and work schedules with the crew.
  5. Monitor work progress, productivity, and quality of workmanship, and take corrective actions as necessary to maintain project timelines and standards.
  6. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and safety standards, including OSHA and DOT requirements.
  7. Coordinate with project managers and engineers to address any issues or changes in project scope and ensure effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  8. Perform regular inspections of work sites, equipment, and materials to identify and address any safety hazards or deficiencies.
  9. Maintain accurate records of project activities, including daily reports, time sheets, material usage, and equipment maintenance.
  10. Train and mentor crew members to enhance their skills and promote a culture of safety, quality, and professionalism.

 

Qualifications:

  1. Strong knowledge of concrete materials, techniques, and equipment used in bridge patching and repair.
  2. Understanding of safety regulations and best practices related to concrete construction, including confined space entry, fall protection, and hazardous materials handling.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
  4. Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and drawings.
  5. Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  6. OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety certification (preferred).
  7. Ability to work flexible hours and travel to project sites as needed.
  8. High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or vocational training in concrete construction or related fields are a plus.
