Position Overview: The Commercial Plumbing/Mechanical Project Manager will oversee and manage plumbing and mechanical projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the commercial plumbing and mechanical industry, demonstrating strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of industry standards and regulations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Project Planning & Management:
  • Develop detailed project plans, including scope, budget, timeline, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to define project requirements and specifications.
  • Oversee project execution, ensuring adherence to schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Client & Stakeholder Communication:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their needs, concerns, and changes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and deliver regular project updates to clients and stakeholders.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, ensuring their satisfaction and identifying opportunities for future business.
  • Team Leadership & Coordination:
  • Lead and mentor project teams, including plumbers, mechanical technicians, and subcontractors.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to review project status, resolve issues, and ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of project team members.
  • Budget & Financial Management:
  • Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring cost control.
  • Review and approve invoices, change orders, and other financial documentation.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring profitability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks to maintain high standards of workmanship and safety.
  • Address and resolve any issues related to code compliance, safety, or quality.
  • Problem Solving & Risk Management:
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve project-related issues, minimizing impact on timelines and budgets.
  • Implement corrective actions and continuous improvement practices as needed.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience managing commercial plumbing and mechanical projects.
  • Proven track record of successfully completing projects on time and within budget.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing and mechanical systems, codes, and standards.
  • Excellent project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and resource management.
  • Effective leadership and team management abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
