We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Quality Assurance Inspector to join our team for a major city project near Buffalo, New York. This is an exciting opportunity for professionals with a strong background in structural steel inspection, welding, and non-destructive testing (NDT) and AWS CWI and ASNT NDT Level 2 certification in Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) (additional opportunity for those with coatings certifications or experience). The role involves shop QA inspections, ensuring the highest quality standards in structural steel fabrication.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough shop QA inspections of structural steel components.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and standards.
- Perform Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) as per ASNT NDT Level 2 standards.
- Document inspection results and provide detailed reports.
- Collaborate with the project team to address any quality issues.
- (If qualified) Inspect and verify coatings applications and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Certifications: Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) and ASNT NDT Level 2 certification in MT.
- Experience: Proven experience in structural steel inspection, welding inspection, and non-destructive testing. Additional coatings experience is a plus.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Availability: Must be able to start immediately and commit to the project duration.
Additional Information:
- Must live within a commutable distance, no travel/lodging will be provided.
