Job DescriptionJob Description

Under the supervision of the Plant Manager, operator cuts veneer to size requirements, using computer-controlled double knife and single knife clipper.

  1. Verifies machine is properly guarded.
  2. Demonstrates knowledge of and proper use of all machine specific controls.
  3. Verifies emergency stops are functional.
  4. Reads and understands tickets, factory order, special instruction for cutting requirements
  5. Ensures proper size is programmed in machine
  6. Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the Plant Manager
  7. Inspect for evidence of defective material conditions such as but not limited to veneer blemishes, uneven cutting, squareness.
  8. Verifies correct quality and size
  9. Keep panels in order if they are sequenced or blueprinted
  10. Make glue using correct formula
  11. Apply glue using a spray gun and deliver material to splicer area for drying
  12. Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.

Minimum of a high school education or 3 years factory related experience in a manufacturing environment

Ability to read and understand documents such as blueprints, factory orders and other instructional documents. Ability to communicate effectively with other employees in the organization.

Should have basic math skills that include ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
