Job DescriptionJob Description

Manage, advise, and schedule trade mechanics in implementing a comprehensive preventative maintenance and repairs program for agency-operated facilities. 

Manage the implementation of outsourced contracts applicable to building maintenance, life safety, and municipal, state, and OPWDD regulations.   Manage the agency’s extermination & bed bug control programs.  Conduct facilities assessments identifying, confirming, and recommending modifications & enhancements pertinent to an aging population and outdated facilities.

Manage the transportation and fleet of vehicles.

REQUIREMENTS:

1.           Minimum of 5 years of management experience within the skilled trades.

2.           Knowledge of the practices and techniques of the trades to manage plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and masonry contractors.

3.           PC skills, including MS Office Work and MS Excel

4.           Good communication skills.

5.           Experience preparing scopes of work, layouts, and cost estimates for renovation projects.

6.           Experience working and collaborating with sub-contractors

7.           Familiar with an essential reading of blueprints and mechanical drawings.

8.           Familiar with trade tools and equipment for the various trades.

9.           Valid driver’s license. Willing to drive to/from all agency facilities.

10.        Performs all job responsibilities in full compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.  Adheres to      the agency’s corporate compliance program, including the code of business conduct, the NYS and federal false claims acts, whistleblower protections, and mandatory reporting.  Completes corporate compliance training at least annually.  Fully cooperates in all corporate compliance investigations and reviews

EDUCATION:

2-Years College (Associate Degree) or five years of management experience.
