Sharples, a leading laser die manufacturer, is seeking a 2nd Shift Machine Operator to join our team You will help oversee operational activities and ensure excellent quality control. The 2nd Shift Machine Operator full time position is Monday - Thursday, 2:00 pm to midnight.

2nd Shift Machine Operator Responsibilities:

1. Perform typical machine operations; include Wood Laser, Metal Laser, Water Jet, and CNC Router.

2. Inspect and load materials required for each job

3. Select proper cutting settings and proper fixtures/jigs when required

4. Establish proper settings required for cutting/routing current material

5. Perform prescribed equipment maintenance as required

6. Perform all dimensional and quality inspections

7. Log work time accurately on Sharples ERP System.

8. Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.

9. Perform other related operations as required or directed, including work at different workstations as production needs require.

10. Any additional functions as assigned by supervisors.

2nd Shift Machine Operator ​Qualifications:

1. Three (3) to five (5) years relevant technical experience.

2. Possess mental and physical agility to use computers and tools.

3. Ability to follow instructions and established uniform procedures related to duties and responsibilities.

4. Ability to follow patterns made to the customer specifications.

5. Ability to understand the needs of customers.

6. Ability to perform basic math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division), as well as metric to and from conversions.

7. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with other employees and leadership.

8. Ability to maintain professional and appropriate conduct.

9. Good working knowledge of and adherence to all relevant policies, company standards.

10. Provides ideas and suggestions that contribute to the growth of the team and/or improve work environment.

11. Carry out duties in a safe & timely manner with struct adherence to safety procedures and protocols.

12. Must be able to stand at a machine to complete the tasks of the 10 hour shift.
