Spectrum school is seeking a classroom teacher that creates the learning program and goals for each child, monitors student progress, develops the accommodations and modifications needed for the student to achieve their yearly goals, and is responsible for the day to day operations in the classroom while implementing the given curriculum and ensuring they are meeting the state's content standards. They assist the team (IS, Gen Ed teacher and assistants), ensuring grades and progress are entered timely. They work with the classroom team to design programming, the data collection tracking and evaluating if the program needs changes.
Candidates must possess strong time management skills, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines.
● Flexible to changing priorities and conditions.
● Candidates must be willing to work required hours as well as additional hours as needed to complete assignments.
● Valid Ohio certificates and Licenses, a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in special education, social work, behavior analysis, organizational psychology, education administration with a master’s degree in a related field preferred.
● Ability to pass a required background check.
● Training and working knowledge of special education requirements, behavior management techniques with experience in the development of FBAs/BIPs.
● Knowledge in crisis intervention techniques, willingness to learn and practice agency de-escalation techniques. The position will require physical interaction with students who have difficulty controlling physical behavior.
● Knowledge of basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, google docs), as well as skills in internet navigation, email management
● Compliance with HIPAA, FERPA and ODE guidelines.
● Always maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
● Reliable, dependable, and trustworthy work ethic; a strong sense of professional integrity.
● Proven ability to plan, organize, and implement activities and large-scales projects and events.
SIGN ON BONUS $1,250 ( $500 paid after 30 days of employment, $700 payed after 90 days)
