Essential Job Functions:

· Measure, cut, bend, and install conduit from ½” to 4” diameters. Use tape rule to measure accurately. Use hand and power pipe bending tools to accurately bend pipe to specific angles for installation. May operate threading and cutting tools (hand and power operated).

· Measure and lay out locations for pipe and hangers using information and dimensions from blueprints, sketches, etc. to mark locations and install conduit and boxes.

· Installs hangers and supports for conduit, cable trays, fastens hangers/supports to steel or concrete, etc. Familiar with using drills, power fastener guns, and power tools. May climb ladders or work from scaffolding or man lift in order to install material. Heights vary from floor level to excess of 20’.

· Capable of installing conduit or cable underground.

· Must understand and accurately apply current National Electric Code and related installation requirements for safety, bonding, grounding, etc. Responsible for performing measurements, mathematical calculations, and mechanically securing conduit and boxes for proper installation.

· Pulls wire/cable through conduit manually or with mechanical assistance. Performs wiring terminations and splices to conform to design/code requirements and proper installation practice. May include low-voltage installations.

· As required, tests energized circuits or equipment to confirm with design/installation requirements or for safety/precautionary reasons. Use test equipment or meter as needed to determine continuity, polarity, etc. Must utilize proper PPE and never work on energized circuits.

· Installs devices and equipment as needed and test for proper operation. (Included, but not limited to: lighting, power, emergency circuits, fire alarm, sound, CCTV, and other low-voltage systems as authorized. Installs power distribution equipment (transformers, switchgears, etc.) using material handling equipment, lift, etc. Performs necessary tests/checks for proper operation.

· May assist with rigging or lifting operations involving cranes, hoists, etc. for placement of equipment.

· May check temporary circuits, extension cords, temporary lighting, etc. for integrity and safety. May tag, label, remove material from service, etc. as required by safety standards.

· Perform a variety of duties as necessary for the completion of work.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

· Proficient in reading blue prints, comprehending CADD drawing and architectural layout.

· Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy. Demonstrate sound math and measurement skills.

· Communicate effectively with colleagues, subcontractors and management.

· Use reason and logic.

· Work easily and skillfully with hands and tooling.

· Able to work in confined spaces or at certain heights.

· Meet safety standards and building regulations.

· Knowledge of legal restrictions and safety rules and agree to wear proper PPE.

· Plans layout, install, and repair conduit, wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment.

· Completion of an accredited apprenticeship program or have equivalent experience in the construction trade.

· Current electrical license from any major city where testing is required or documentation of a scheduled testing required.

Educational Requirements:

· High School Diploma required.

· Journeyman’s License.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand for up to eight hours.
• Must be able to lift 50-120lbs frequently.
• Must be able to walk, climb stairs and ladders, stairs, bend, hold/grasp, balance, and squat.
• Over-head work and reaching.
• Pull/push up to 50lbs
• Manual dexterity

At our central location, we specialize in our own in-house fabrication for the jobsites. This includes electrical prefab, welding, sheet metal work, piping, cabling, and some concrete work.
