Gunsmith Machinist- Full Time

Experience Required:

• Do you have a minimum of 2 years related manufacturing experience?
• Can you operate and set up manual lathes and milling machines?
• Can you read drawings, display basic math skills, and meet tolerance requirements?
• Do you have a professional general gunsmithing background, preferably with regards to bolt action rifles?
• Do you have experience with chamber reaming and threading of bolt action rifles?

Primary Function:

Operates and performs setup and operation of manual lathes and milling machines, calculating barrel extensions and headspace numbers, manual single point threading and chambering of precision tolerance parts. This job is primarily a machinist position but will occasionally involve disassembly of bolt action rifles, repair, diagnostics and test firing.

Position Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):

• Learn how each piece of equipment is set up to run for production
• Assist in designing and manufacturing of fixtures as required
• Operate as initial quality control inspector on all parts produced
• Report any safety or maintenance concerns
• All other duties assigned by management

Skills:

• Demonstrated ability in the comprehension of and practical application of workmanship standards
• Ability to read drawings, display basic math skills and accurately meet build sheet descriptions.
• Ability to visually inspect product

Qualifications:

• Gunsmith training preferred
• Experience with operating and setting up manual lathes and milling machines
• Familiarity with standard metrology tools
• At least two (2) years of related manufacturing experience preferred
• Strong communication and ethics
• Strong Attention to detail and self-motivated
• Ability to be trained on the job with more challenging equipment

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand up to ten hours daily
• Must be able to obtain parts and supplies 10-50 feet away less than 1 hour per day
• Must be able to walk, climb, reach, stoop, bend, kneel, squat and twist waist frequently
• Must be able to rotate wrists and shoulders frequently
• Must be able to use hands for repetitive grasping, pushing, pulling and manipulation
• Must be able to use foot for repetitive movement as in operating foot controls
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds frequently

Work Environment:

• Indoor
• Loud noise environments
• Climate-controlled environment
• Fumes from equipment or airborne particles

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm
• No weekends or Nights
• Vacation days, holidays, and overtime are also available
