EXPECTATIONS

Research Project Leadership
○ Take ownership of research initiatives from conception to execution, with a focus on bottom line business impact.
○ Define research objectives, methodologies, deliverables, and timelines.

Technical Expertise and Mentorship
○ Serve as the technical leader on the Research Analytics team, sharing best practices and driving continuous improvement.
○ Mentor analysts in data analysis, advanced statistical techniques, and research methodologies.
○ Review and provide feedback on code written by team members.
○ Stay abreast of emerging trends in analytics, research, and data science, sharing knowledge and insights with the team.
○ Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the Research Analytics team, encouraging creative thinking and bold ideas.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE

Proven Research Experience
○ You have 8+ years of experience as a research analyst or similar.
○ You’ve owned and executed large, complex research projects from inception to completion that have driven significant, tangible business results.
○ You’ve written white papers and/or contributed to research publications that have driven thought leadership.
○ Extensive experience formulating hypotheses and designing experiments, including control group selection, sample size calculation, and statistical power analysis.
○ Track record of identifying internal and external data assets that enable innovative research. Familiarity with industry-specific data sources and APIs a nice-to-have.

Data Analysis

○ Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python or R for data extraction, transformation, cleaning, and analysis.
○ Experience conducting Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) on large-scale data sets to reveal patterns, detect anomalies, and test hypotheses.
○ Expert analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data sets and distill key insights for senior leadership and executive teams.
○ Strong background in statistics, including descriptive, inferential, probability distributions, time-series, multivariate analysis. Knowledge of Baysian statistics and predictive ML techniques (decision trees and random forests) and nice-to-have.

Communication and Stakeholder Management
○ Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences in a clear, compelling manner.
○ Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, mitigate risks, and manage stakeholder expectations.
○ You’re comfortable cultivating relationships with senior leaders and earning their trust through frequent communication and consistently high quality deliverables.
○ Last, but certainly not least, you possess strong fundamentals. You do the little things right because they matter. You’re disciplined, organized, and a stickler for details.
