Isolatek International, the industry leader in the marketing and manufacturing of passive fire protection materials for the construction industry has an immediate opening for a full-time Certified Maintenance Mechanic in our Operations Department at its Huntington, IN location.

The Certified Maintenance Mechanic repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the below duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Observe mechanical devices in operation to locate the causes of trouble.
  • Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
  • Examine form and texture parts to detect imperfections.
  • Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Repair or replaces defective parts.
  • Install special functional and structural parts in devices.
  • Lubrication and cleans parts.
  • Start devices to test their performance.
  • Set-up and operates lathes, drill press, grinder, and other metal working tools to make and repair parts.
  • Set-up and operate electric arc welder and cutting torches.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment.
  • Check and monitor inventory on maintenance supplies, tools and equipment and reports to Maintenance Supervisor any supplies that to be ordered.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Installing, repairing, and maintaining industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Assembling and disassembling machinery and equipment.
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical problems.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Aligning and calibrating machinery and equipment.
  • Installing and repairing pumps, motors, and other mechanical components.
  • Performing preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment.
  • Fabricating and welding components.
  • Installing and repairing conveyor systems.

Installing and repairing electrical systems.

Perform other duties and special projects as needed to support the plant operations.

Experience and Education:

  • 5-10 years Industrial Maintenance
  • 2-year Technical School Degree from an accredited college or technical school.

Skills:

Millwright qualified, mechanical aptitude, blueprint reading and drawing, Industrial Mathematics, Communications, Problem Solving, Physical strength and stamina, Organization, Machinery repair.

Understanding of mechanical equipment, adherence to Safety procedures including LOTO, Confined space, Fall protection etc., electrical experience preferred. Use and knowledge of rigging equipment and proper use. Fit align and attach mechanical components, Test Equipment and adjust, when necessary, Service of hydraulic systems. Able to perform routine machine maintenance of all equipment.
