PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A TEP TO HIRE POSITION

SCHEDULE: 6:00AM - 4:30PM WITH POTENTIAL TO INCREASE TO 12 HOUR SHIFTS AS NEEDED - AROUND 20 OT HOURS PER WEEK

TOP SKILLS REQUIRED (ENSURE SKILLS ARE LISTED ON YOUR RESUME):

  • MINIMUM 5 YEARS OF WELDING EXPERIENCE IN FLUX CORE (FCAW)
  • EXPERIENCE ON WELDING 100% WELDS TO PASS UT
  • EXPERIENCE IN GOUGING FOR 100% WELDS
  • BASIC KNOWLEDGE IN READING DRAWINGS AND WELD SYMBOLS
  • BASIC KNOWLEDGE IN UNDERSTANDING AND FOLLOWING WELDING PROCEDURE SPECIFICATIONS (WPS)

**ALL INTERVIEWS WILL BE IN-PERSON AND REQUIRE AN ON-SITE WELD TEST**

ON-SITE WELD TEST: WELDERS MUST PASS THREE (3) WELD TESTS (TEST PLATES 1"x8"x10") IN 2G (HORIZONTAL, 3G (VERTICAL), 4G (OVERHEAD), USING FCAW (FLUX CORE ARC WELDING)

JOB SUMMARY:
Position, rework, fit and weld according to written and typed instructions, blueprints, manufacturer's specifications and knowledge of characteristics of metal. Select equipment and plan layout, fabrication, assembly and welding.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lay out, position, align and fit components together using applicable machines, tools and equipment.
- Bolt, clamp and tack-weld parts to secure them in position for final welding.
- Set up and weld parts using welding equipment.
- Maintain sufficient knowledge of geometry, arithmetic, structural design, heat effects and allowances for thickness of metal to project location of holes, cuts and bends from blueprints, written and typed instructions and manufacturer's specifications.
- Use hand tools and be able to correctly setup and operate applicable shop machines.
- Perform arc and oxy-acetylene welding, cutting and brazing on various ferrous and nonferrous metals, in accordance with established methods and procedures.
- Maintain production documentation per required procedure.
- Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
- Comply with all Company and HSE policies and procedures.

 

FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Able to lift 45 pounds.
  • Ability to learn on the job and apply.
  • Ability to work with heavy equipment.
  • Plans and coordinates daily work with limited supervision.
  • As addressed within the Primary Responsibilities Section above.
  • Performs other work-related tasks as assigned by the Fabrication Manager, or Supervisor.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 2-years of welding experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Follows daily work scheduled hours.
- Exposed to loud noise while in the warehouse.
- Exposed to moving parts while on the shop floor.
- Limited (5%) travel required outside of the FM 529 facility.
- Exposed to occasional hot and/or cold weather depending on outside climate conditions and warehouse temperature since the shop floor is neither airconditioned nor heated.

BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES:
- Reads all applicable job related JHA's.
- Wears proper PPE while in the warehouse.
- Communicates well with other employees.
- Works well alone and in team environments.
- Adheres to facilities safety policies and attends all monthly safety training.
- Attends all Human Resource directed training via classroom, HUB Learning, or iComply CBT.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
- Operates both JIB and Overhead Cranes.
- Operates Class IV Forklifts (Hyster 50 - 170).
- Able to read company schematics/blueprints/diagrams/drawings.
- Wears a Fall Protection Harness when performing work at heights.
- Able to weld in the following position/type(s): 1G - 4G (Groove & Fillet).
- Able to weld in the following classifications: TIG & MIG, Flux-Cored, Stick (shielded metal arc (SMAW), gas tungsten arc, and gas metal arc welding).
