Our firm is a growing, fast-paced, and diverse law practice. The firm concentrates on health care law, estate planning, probate and estate administration, discrimination law, employment law, personal injury, consumer protection, criminal law, family law, debt collection, and general civil litigation.

We are looking to hire an experienced family attorney who is fiercely passionate about representing clients facing some of the most challenging times in their lives.

Family Law Attorney Responsibilities:

  • Provide representation for clients in court in legal cases as pertains to family law
  • Uphold a steady schedule of hearings, court appearances, and conferences
  • Prepare for and attend trials, court hearings, mediations, and depositions
  • Draft, finalize and customize pleadings, discovery and other legal documents (petitions, responses, judicial forms, summons, declarations, affidavits, divorce decrees, parenting plans, child support orders, child support worksheets)
  • Oversee and manage the legal issues that transpire between people who are members of the same family
  • Communicate with clients and discuss options, strategies and solutions at key junctures of their case so they understand their options and make informed decisions
  • Advise staff on legal matters and interpret laws
  • Interact routinely with caseworkers, supervisors, program directors and program administrators
  • Supervise and direct mediation sessions, and offer effective legal advice
  • Organize and record all official documents required to file cases
  • Update clients regularly about their cases; communicate with opposing counsel, court personnel and other involved parties in a professional and respectful manner while advocating for clients

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment

Education and Experience:

  • JD/Admitted to practice law in Massachusetts
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in family law
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Must be skill in negotiation, debate and persuasion techniques

Compensation:
