Job Title: Sous Chef

Location: City Pharmacy Restaurant, Covington, GA

Position Overview: We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. As Sous Chef, you will work closely with our Executive Chef to oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, menu development, inventory management, and staff supervision. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts, exceptional leadership skills, and a creative approach to cooking.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and execute creative and seasonal menus that showcase the best of southern cuisine.
• Supervise kitchen staff to ensure that food is prepared and presented according to established recipes and quality standards.
• Assist in training and mentoring culinary team members to maintain high levels of performance and professionalism.
• Oversee inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and storing of ingredients and supplies.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Monitor food costs and work to minimize waste while maximizing profitability.
• Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment, fostering a culture of teamwork and respect among kitchen staff.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant environment.
• Culinary degree or equivalent training from a recognized culinary institution preferred.
• Strong knowledge of southern cuisine and cooking techniques, with a focus on quality and flavor.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment, while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, with a commitment to upholding standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
