Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist to support our client’s medical facility based in Santa Cruz CA 95065. This is a Contract job with a possible extension opportunity and a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization

Location: Santa Cruz CA 95065

Job Type: 06 Months - W2 contract - with possible extension

Schedule – 07:00 am – 04:00 pm Monday-Friday with rotating weekends,

Pay Range: $22-$25 (Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.)

Responsibilities:

  • Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
  • Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
  • Properly explains in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as required.
  • Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
  • Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
  • Package specimens for transport.
  • Stores specimen samples according to the required temperature, places samples in appropriate collection container/ tube, accurately labels, follows different procedures as outlined by specific to protocol deemed necessary for transport to maintain the integrity of the specimen.

Qualifications /Work Experience:

  • Minimum 06 months experience, with over a year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
