Job DescriptionJob Description

COCO Construction is looking for an experienced wet utilities estimator to help strengthen a team we are building. We are a new, up and coming company focusing on underground utilities throughout the Central Texas region with a strong belief in our principals; Quality of work. Top tier client service, Attention to detail, and Integrity.

 

Responsibilities will include:

-Serve as the lead estimator of the company. 

-Generate accurate quantity take-offs and bids on project invites.

-Generate change orders , value engeneering solutions, alternate proposals and other common practices for a project from base bid to contract documents.

-Review of plans, city specs, standard details and other documents to allow for accurate and competitive bids.

-Submittial of RFI’s to clarify scope of work, verify existing conditions and proposed work. This may include occasional site visits and pre-construction meetings. 

-Material quantity take-offs 

-Perform site visits to verify scope of work and site geography and conditions if needed.

-Prepare documentation that the GC, owners, inspectors, might require on awarded projects.

-Communicate with engineers and self resolve plan design issues where able to. 

-Commnuicate with material, safety, machinery suppliers for quotes, cost updates, and availability.

-Obtain quotes from subcontractors on specialty work needed.

-Represent the company in a good way through strong organization, communication, and respectful methods on any given project or relationship based activities. 
 

Monday-Friday Schedule 

*Qualifications*

 

Candidate shall possess the understanding of utility construction means and methods, as well as knowledge of crew production capabilities, weather conditions, safety standards, project schedules, types of heavy equipment needed. 

-College degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Science, or related.

-5+ years experience in estimating or successfully managing utility projects for multifamily development, public street (Right of Way) development, Commercial projects, or Subdivision developments.

-Experience working with TXDOT (permits, plans, traffic control), city/municipality permits, codes and standard details.

-Self driven to accomplish work effectively and in a timely manner.

-Great communication skills with owners and other management within the company.

-Great organizational skills

-Experience with HCSS Heavy Bid estimating software is preferred.

-Able to self perform work efficiently and manage several job proposals at any given time.
