Attorney Specializing in Landlord-Tenant Law – Florida (statewide)

Are you a Florida Licensed attorney with a passion for landlord-tenant law seeking an opportunity to make a significant impact? We are looking for an attorney to join our team and take on the challenges and opportunities of representing landlords, property management companies, and apartment communities across the state of Florida in their landlord-tenant and property management matters.

 

Our ideal candidate will have a background in civil litigation, knowledge of Florida landlord-tenant law, and a commitment to delivering exceptional legal services. Smart, motivated, and ambitious attorneys will be considered, regardless of level of experience. **Responsibilities:**
- Represent clients in landlord-tenant disputes, including eviction cases, fair housing matters, and housing discrimination cases.
- Utilize your understanding of Florida landlord-tenant law to provide expert legal advice and guidance.
- Efficiently manage a high-volume caseload and meet fast-moving calendar deadlines.
- Effectively communicate with clients, opposing counsel/party, courts, and witnesses.
- Competently navigate case management software for streamlined workflow.
- Appear in court for hearings and trials, displaying confidence and expertise in the courtroom setting.

 

**Requirements:**
- Licensed to practice law in the state of Florida; experience in state and federal courts within Florida is preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of Florida Landlord-Tenant Law and eviction cases is preferred.
- Experience in Fair Housing and Discrimination matters is desirable.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Comfortable and skilled in client communication and relationship-building.
- Proficiency in case management software for effective organization and case tracking.
- Willingness to work both from our office and remotely (when applicable)
- Office located in the Pensacola area, and our legal services are provided to clients across state of Florida.

 

**Benefits:**
- Annual Salary: Starting at $75,000 - Commensurate with experience.

About the job:

PMLS, a landlord-only law firm, is seeking an attorney to join our team. This position is for a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package. The attorney will be responsible for providing legal representation to clients in a variety of landlord-tenant matters. Duties include but are not limited to: advising clients, preparing contracts and legal documents, drafting eviction and other landlord related pleadings, motions, and other documents; drafting orders and notices; attending hearings; preparing trial briefs; scheduling trials, depositions, and hearings; managing case calendars; managing client files; preparing discovery; negotiating settlements or judgments; and supervising staff members. Great opportunity for entry level attorney to learn and grow under the supervision of a 20-plus-year practitioner.

 

Duties include but are not limited to:
·Advising clients

Drafting pleadings, motions, and other documents
·Issuing orders and notices
·Attending hearings
·Preparing case briefs
·Managing case calendars
·Scheduling trials, depositions, and hearings
·Managing client files
·Drafting correspondence
·Negotiating settlements or judgments
·Supervising staff attorneys
·Scheduling depositions, hearings, trials, and court appearances
·Managing client files
·Selling court services
·Attending conferences/meetings
·Attending court or hearing officer functions as required by the court or administrative body.
