The DC Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for managing, directing, planning, and maintenance within a distribution center environment. Responsible for developing budgets and long-range facilities plans based on company growth and future needs. Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to ensure proper operations and upkeep of facilities, general electrical and plumbing systems, conveyor systems, electronic sorters, forklifts, and various other power material handling equipment.Essential Functions (Including but not limited to):
  • Create a Preventative Maintenance (PM) schedule to ensure all equipment, conveyors, motors, electrical items, and communal areas are kept to the upmost standard and operating regulations.
  • Performs regularly scheduled preventative maintenance on general electrical and plumbing systems, conveyor systems, electronic sorters, forklifts, and various other powered material handling equipment.
  • Oversees the functioning of all building systems including mechanical, electrical, fire/life safety, plumbing, and waste management.
  • Performs troubleshooting on equipment breakdown per training material which includes disassembly, repair, parts replacement, and parts fabrication to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Oversees contractors involved in facility projects and delivery of services. Installs and repairs DC storage racks as required.
  • Ensures building operations comply with all local zoning laws and regulations.
  • Maintains and completes various maintenance documents including work order requests, preventative maintenance and daily job breakdown summaries, parts requests, and parts purchase orders.
  • Performs semi-routine duties where some judgment is required. Work is performed under defined and uniform procedures.
  • Maintain a library of user manuals for office furniture and fixtures that can be referred to when needed.
  • Exhibits reasonable care and operation of powered material handling equipment.
  • Champion in safety protocols to promote safe working conditions for all maintenance team members and operational members too.
  • Constructs report(s) routinely for upper management that captures and summarizes the uptime of the facility and equipment.
  • Coaches and mentors, a team of maintenance personnel to follow common repairing practices that include but are not limited to lockout tagout, chemical spills procedures, fire extinguishing handling and usage techniques, propane tank storage and handling, and other common and uncommon practices.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned in support of the company’s needs and operations.
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong English, reading and Math skills required.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years electrical, mechanical, and maintenance-related experience is required.
  • Strong mechanical, welding, carpentry, plumbing and AC/DC electrical circuitry knowledge through 480, 3-phase required.
  • Excellent hand and eye coordination required. Ability to climb and work at high elevations required.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, utilize basic hand tools and electrical and/or electronic test equipment including volt/ohm meters and amp probes strongly preferred.
  •  Ability to handle multiple tasks, be detail oriented, meet department standards, and perform duties without immediate and constant supervision.
  • Previous Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS) knowledge preferred.
  • Previous experience in the repair of powered material handling equipment strongly preferred.
  • Ability to perform physical activity at a sustained pace within the Distribution Center environment including walking, bending and lifting a minimum of 60 pounds is required.
