The Accounting Assistant role at SC Fastening Systems will work directly under the Accounting Manager.  The right candidate will be tasked with keeping accurate and detailed financial records for SC Fastening Systems.  This position will verify, allocate, and post details of business transactions to subsidiary accounts in journals or computer files from documents, including sales slips, invoices, receipts, check stubs, and computer printouts. This position will also summarize details in separate ledgers or computer files and transfer data to the general ledger, in addition to reconciling, balancing, and monitoring accounts such as:  cash receipts and expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, profit and loss, and other items pertinent to business operations.  Additional duties will include preparing checks for vendor payment, preparing withholding, and preparing and mailing monthly statements to customers.

Any qualified candidate will be required to uphold the integrity and values upon which SC Fastening Systems was founded. 

Job Description:

•  Effectively use strong organizational and computer skills (MS Excel, Word, Quickbooks) for the following bookkeeping transactions
  •  Collect and enter vendor invoices
  •  General Ledger entries
  • Analyze and prepare financial reports
  • Prepare vendor payments
  • Enter daily deposits
•  Maintain contact with customers regarding payment of Accounts Receivable
  •  Prepare monthly statements for customers.
  • Follow up with customers on an as-needed basis regarding status of A/R
• Maintain vendor relationships by responding to Accounts Payable calls & emails.
•  Manage the financial records filing system by ensuring all financial records are filed accurately in the proper location(s) - electronically or in the form of paper filings.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in recording and filing information
•  Self-motivated with the ability to effectively manage time and prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment with minimum supervision
•  Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good PC skills, including knowledge of internet, MS Office, and Quickbooks
• Ability to work well with customers and co-workers in a TEAM ENVIRONMENT
