Chapin Furniture is a family-owned home furnishings store, eager to add great new team members with positive attitudes

Our Warehouse and Delivery position involves receiving and stocking furniture at our warehouse in Chapin, SC. We also open, assemble, and deliver furniture with our own 16-foot box trucks, and setup furniture in our customers' homes. We have a 30,000 square foot showroom on the same property, and our warehouse team is responsible for helping maintain the showroom and the setting up showroom displays.

This role can involve lifting heavy furniture, with the aid of other team members and with specialized dollies, hand trucks, and power equipment. It's great physical and mental exercise and requires an energetic, positive attitude to function at the highest capacity.

This is a full-time position.

HOURS:

  • A typical work week is 40-45 hours per week (9 am- 5pm), with Sundays and most Wednesdays off (rotation schedule on Wednesdays).
  • In retail, people like to shop busy holidays like Memorial Day, Labor Day, Fourth of July, Black Friday weekends, so you must be able to work Saturdays and these busy holiday weekends as needed.

Under the direction of our Warehouse Supervisor, job responsibilities to include but not limited to:

  • Receiving shipments
  • Use of barcode scanners for inventory control (will train)
  • Lifting and moving large pieces of furniture, sometimes over 100 lbs
  • Operation of furniture transportation machinery to include warehouse order picker and delivery truck (CDL is not required)
  • Delivery, installation and setup of heavy furniture (sometimes exceeding 100 lbs) in customers’ homes (often upstairs)
  • Assembly of furniture in homes and at warehouse
  • Warehouse and showroom maintenance
  • Stocking furniture in store showroom
  • Providing excellent customer service
