Job Title: Quality Engineer - Heavy Industrial Environment

Job Overview: As a Quality Engineer in a heavy industrial environment, you will be responsible for ensuring that products meet quality standards and customer specifications throughout the manufacturing process. You will collaborate with various teams to develop and implement quality control procedures, conduct inspections, analyze data, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Quality Assurance:

    • Develop and implement quality control plans, procedures, and protocols to maintain consistent product quality.
    • Conduct regular inspections and audits of manufacturing processes, equipment, and products to identify areas for improvement.
    • Monitor compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements, such as ISO 9001 or industry-specific certifications.
  2. Quality Control:

    • Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues, deviations, or non-conformities.
    • Establish and maintain quality metrics, including defect rates, scrap rates, and customer complaints, to drive continuous improvement efforts.
    • Utilize statistical analysis tools and methodologies to identify trends and patterns in quality data and drive process optimization.
  3. Supplier Quality Management:

    • Collaborate with procurement and supplier teams to establish and maintain supplier quality agreements and performance metrics.
    • Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure adherence to quality standards and specifications.
    • Work with suppliers to address quality issues, implement corrective actions, and improve overall supplier performance.
  4. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and other relevant departments to resolve quality-related issues and implement design or process changes.
    • Provide technical expertise and support for quality-related projects, new product introductions, and process validations.
    • Facilitate communication and training sessions to promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  5. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of quality procedures, work instructions, and records.
    • Prepare and present quality reports, trend analyses, and performance metrics to management and stakeholders.
    • Ensure compliance with documentation and reporting requirements for regulatory agencies and customer audits.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field; additional certifications in quality management (e.g., Six Sigma, ASQ Certified Quality Engineer) preferred.
  • Proven experience in a quality engineering role within a heavy industrial manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of quality management principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies, including statistical analysis, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes.
  • Familiarity with relevant quality standards and regulations, such as ISO 9001, ASME, API, or other industry-specific certifications.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and drive actionable insights.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
