Job Summary

The IT Administrator provides support to the central office hub as well as multiple resort locations situated in the Caribbean. Reporting to the Director of IT, the Administrator ensures the smooth daily runnings of all support systems as well as responding to critical response issues. Daily management of systems and maintenance of all back-office equipment is key to the success of this essential role. The position includes occasional travel to the Caribbean (Cayman Islands, Turks & Caicos Islands), therefore flexibility and ability to travel on both a scheduled and crisis response basis is key aspect to the role.

Responsibilities

  • Systems administration and system support services
  • Install and support end user workstations and applications
  • Ensure critical systems (POS, PMS, PBX) and others are functioning properly
  • Support and coordinate maintenance for all back office and departmental software, sales, and accounting applications
  • Assist in maintaining, improving, and properly archiving all necessary IT documentation
  • Maintain user procedures and hardware familiarization for all systems
  • Perform server infrastructure management, performance monitoring, operating system upgrades and troubleshooting
  • Provide system support services, including service outage diagnosis, troubleshooting and restoration of service, virus protection management
  • Participate in project management including planning, implementation, budgeting, and support.
  • Assist in all systems backup and recovery procedures
  • Provide 24 / 7 support for mission critical systems
  • Participates in training of Island operations leaders as guided by the Director to ensure overseas teams are versed in the essential equipment
  • Assists the Director with creating training materials where necessary for Island operations

The IT department depends on data driven mindsets, a willingness to learn, strong ownership and accountability of self, and a solid work ethic.

  • 4 years of IT experience
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience in a hotel or resort environment preferred, specifically Marriott Bonvoy branded Hotels
  • Basic understanding of SQL preferred
  • Knowledge of Windows Desktop OS and applications
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality, follow and adhere to all applicable laws, and document processes and procedures
  • Ability to work and function efficiently under pressure and amidst changing conditions
  • Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Meet travel requirements to travel outside of the country
